Super Last Minute

It was just like always: Somehow we do not manage to plan our vacation in time. For Shawn's birthday we tried to get away for a short weekend trip but didn't get a chance to check availability until Friday morning. Booking the same day is a little challenging - no cheap flights left and the combined rail-hotel trips were not bookable any more. We deceided on Brussels being only 2 hours away. Booked a hotel in the morning and took off all packed up to the train station to get a train ticket there. It was fun. Unfortunately the hotel was a little out of the city but with the 3 day pass to public transportation ok. That way we got to know all the little neighborhoods. Brussels was very international and a nice mixture between the Netherlands and France. Next time jobs show up at NATO we know what we are getting into. Even though i am not sure if I really want to move again? This afternoon THomas and Nicole had invited friends over to a BBQ. Shawn could not come, had to catch up on his work. Tomorrow I am heading to Berlin early. We should have visited Berlin that way I would have safed one trip.
